History of the Organization

History of the Organization

The non-governmental organization “Ukrainian Psychoanalytic Union” was registered in the state registry on June 15, 2017. It all began with the idea of creating a professional space in which the development of practitioners would be guided by clear, transparent, and ethical principles.

At the time of its founding, there was a particularly acute need for a community that would not only bring together psychoanalysts and psychotherapists but also establish clear standards for entering the profession.

It was important to create an environment where professional growth is based on consistency, the quality of education, and accountability to clients and society. At the same time, one of the key ideas was to open the Ukrainian professional space to contemporary knowledge and international experience.

That is why, from its very first steps, the Union focused on attracting leading lecturers—practitioners and theorists—who are ready to share their in-depth knowledge, clinical experience, and new approaches in psychology and psychotherapy. Gradually, this idea evolved into a broader project: the creation of an educational and professional environment that combines training, practice, supervision, and collegial support.

A space where not only competent specialists are formed, but also a responsible professional culture.

Today, the Ukrainian Psychological Union is more than just an organization. It is a community that continues to evolve, while maintaining the same core values: transparency, professionalism, openness to knowledge, and respect for each specialist’s path.
