BYLAWS OF THE SCIENCE COMMITTEE
OF THE UKRAINIAN PSYCHOANALYTICAL UNION.

The Science Committee is a body of the Organization responsible for organizing professional events (conferences, specialized courses, lectures, etc.) that contribute to the gradual professional development of specialists in the field of psychoanalysis. 

In its activities, the Scientific Committee is guided by the current legislation of Ukraine, the UPA Code of Ethics, the UPA Bylaws, and other founding documents of the UPA.

1. The Chair of the Scientific Committee is elected by the Organization’s Conference.

2. The composition of the Scientific Committee is formed by the Chair of the Committee and approved by the President for a term of 4 years.

3. The Committee consists of members of the UPS who are psychoanalysts who have met the training standards in accordance with the Regulations on Membership in the Public Organization “Ukrainian Psychoanalytic Union” and have at least 5 years of practical experience.

4. Meetings of the Scientific Committee are convened at the request of the Chair. 

5. A meeting of the Scientific Committee is valid if a majority of its members are present.

6. Decisions of the Scientific Committee are adopted by a simple majority of its members’ votes. In the event of a tie, the Chairperson’s vote is decisive. In the event of complex or contentious situations, the Chairperson refers them to the Conference for resolution.

7. The Chair of the Scientific Committee reports on the Committee’s activities to the Conference of the Organization’s members.

8. The Scientific Committee, in accordance with its powers, shall:

- organizing professional events: conferences, symposia, specialized courses, thematic lectures, etc.;

- the Committee Chair is responsible for keeping track of and safeguarding work equipment;

- the Committee Chair is responsible for the storage and proper use of the UPS’s technical equipment;

9. The Committee documents its activities in the form of written reports on the events held, which are stored in the Organization’s electronic archives.
